What happened to Skydinse?
Revecoa
The situation
As you have surely noticed, the Skydinse network has been in maintenance mode for several weeks, and the Spring Update 2024 has not yet been released. We want to briefly inform you about the reasons for this and how things will proceed in the future.
The reasons
There are many reasons why there is no update yet: periods of illness, insufficient schedules, an inefficient work structure, incomplete planning, a significantly underestimated workload, and enormous problems with our systems, which consist of extremely outdated components and are built on a (for us now unfortunately) no longer really sufficient basis.
What are the consequences?
The entire development and management team has unanimously decided against transferring our broken systems to the latest version and then repairing them. We cannot guarantee that this way we wouldn't end up in the same situation again in the near future. Furthermore, we consider our old way of working no longer future-proof. Therefore, we have already started to rebuild the Skydinse systems. This time, of course, we want to avoid making the same mistakes as before. The network should retain most of its old functions, but naturally, there will also be some changes (both in the background and foreground). This means, for example, that there could be different GUIs, different prefixes, or different chat formats. The content promised for the Spring Update 2024 will, of course, be made up for, but this may take a while. We can't yet say exactly when the newly developed network (we might call it "Skydinse 3.0") will be released (possibly with a beta phase), but it will definitely take several more months.
MineAttack V is still happening
MineAttack V will, of course, take place again this year. We aim to prepare the network for the start of MineAttack V (probably at the end of October or the beginning of November) so that we can at least offer MineAttack in the well-known format. If that doesn't work, we will find another way to provide MineAttack. But there will definitely be no cancellation.
